Hello WBO,

So this thread is pretty much asking what the title reads. I’ve been hosting events for a couple of years now and I thoroughly enjoy it. But I wanted to know why some members aren’t becoming organizers. This is an honest question. I know I have talks with a few of my friends as to why, whether it’s the quiz being tough, people not feeling comfortable or various other reasons but I wanted to reach out to members directly to see if I or even staff could help if they see a trend in the reasoning.

The purpose of this is just to try to help, if help is needed, or just see reasons that I may not have seen before. I enjoy Beyblade like many other organizers and want to spread it locally and nationally to increase the community and create a real life enjoyment of spinning these tops that we love. Any feedback is welcome, thank you 😎.
I tried once many, many years ago, but because of how remote and how few players there are around here... It flopped completely. So I gave up on it.

I would too but I live in an area that has few bladers and I am still in school. Maybe in June or July I'll try

What area are you in and were you a WBO organizer, capable of posting on the site?

I believe that people have a lot of reasons. I myself haven't hosted in awhile because I've been occupied with school and my parents aren't willing to risk winter weather even if it is in Texas. I think many people are discouraged from the lack of activity on their local threads.

I can fully understand that. Even our NC thread gets posted in requesting events and there’s minimal response but we’re quite active. Thank you for your input

Sweet! Here is a link and it’s a pretty smooth process once you learn the rules. Organizer Link also if you go to the tournaments tab there a link that says Become an Organizer, you can click on there as well

I want to become an Organizer but I’m struggling a lot on the Organizers Quiz a lot and am taking a break to study and make sure I’ve got all the answers correct. I’m also working on practicing hosting events so my first one goes smoothly. It’s hard work being an Organizer and I’m just considering the responsibilities and deciding if I’m ready to become one or not.
I’m still in school, only have 1 beat up Bey stadium, no one in SG can attend
I’m in NYC and it’s a dead zone here there no active organizers here and few bladers. Well at least I’ll be turning 13 in June so I can become an organizer
I’m trying, and I’ve tried the organizers quiz 6 times, but I can’t get it right. I want to become an organizer, the quiz is just 😡
The main reason for me is that i just don't think as someone who's still currently in High School, pursuing a degree in Marine Biology in the future and just has a lot going on in life in general, i just don't think i'm ready to take on the position as organizer. I have all the equipment necessary and have a pretty decent knowledge of the burst meta (At least for Standard and a tiny bit of Classic) but i don't really see myself hosting tournaments with all the intense pressure and responsibilities that an Organizer carries, I have a few mental health issues that make me have incredible emotional breakdowns when under severe stress and pressure. (i have ADHD and Autism but i'm not going to get too into that, that's not a topic i feel comfortable going in-depth here).

Things could change and i may reconsider in the future, for now this is just my stance at the moment

I got A Test coming up and there are some personal issues I gotta clear up and I’m focusing in my studies I’m also struggling with the organizer test, not to mention it is extremely hard to find bladers in Oklahoma nowadays.

No, I was not a WBO organizer, but I could post. This was... I think 2012? A long while ago during the early MFB Era. I'm in Eastern Canada.

Take your time and answer the questions only when you're 100% certain you have the right answer. I actually just passed the Quiz and am waiting for my Interview.

whaaat!? UB is turning purple soon? Congrats. I might stop hosting when the releases end and the meta gets stale.
A really tricky question. But it seems like a two part question. One, a question for non-organizers. The other, a question for organizers.

Why do current, active organizers not host WBO tournaments?
Running a tournament is a lot of work, a lot of stress, a lot of organization and infrastructure, a lot of recordkeeping, and a lot of keeping the rules organized. Many people who run them tend to give up on running them after a while. Other times, a person becomes an organizer, but there still isn't enough interest in the region to hold tournaments. Very rarely you get a situation where there are already 3-4 very active organizers in the region.

Why do non-organizers remain non-organizers?
Not everyone is capable of organizing a WBO tournament. Some people bounce off the organizer quiz, some lack the age or the stadiums or other equipment. The WBO rules are dense, sometimes contradictory, and understanding and implementing them can be a huge barrier to entry. Many who want to be organizers don't have freedom of time or movement, and have to rely on schedules of their caretakers, and unless those adults are fully on board they will be unable to organize WBO tournaments. It takes a level of personal independence and force of will to successfully organize one of these things, and that's just not available for everyone.

As an analogy, think about videogames. Perhaps you wanted to make videogames at some point, maybe you still do. But are you actually doing it? Are you learning to code, make or arrange the art and music assets, and putting it all together? Or is it just ideas floating in your head, that don't get implemented? The honest truth is that not everyone is a do-er. Some people like to dream, but don't do. Sure, they can do fine in school or work, but they prefer to enjoy rather than do, the type that plays videogames rather than makes them. Myself, I don't make videogames, not since a few projects in middle school and high school, but I play a lot of them. But when it comes to Beyblade, I have the actual resources on hand to make a tournament happen every now and then.

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING STUPID QUIZ, RATH WILL DESTROY YOU!

Jokes aside, makes me wonder how people even complete it.
Thank you all for the input and I look forward to hearing more. The feedback helps with making adjustments moving forward, for the organization as well as myself. I am not sure what staff can or will do but I know some ways I may be able to help personally. Regardless thank y'all for the feedback and for those of you that have helped give feedback to others regarding advice on taking the quiz.
some of the questions on the quiz, i'll go back and look at the guide and the guide never gives a clear answer or doesn't have an answer at all (I normally read the guide 5 times over)
I’ve wanted to host since I started playing a year ago. My top reasons to delay as soon as I was eligible were:

-cost of Burst standard stadiums
-feeling uncomfortable judging (especially opposite spin stamina matchups)
-dreading having to explain to parents why their child’s stuff is fake/why their hypersphere beys weren’t faring well

But! I did finally pull the trigger on the stadium and I have spent a lot more time watching matches be judged. I also know now I will have have support from those I’ve met in neighboring scenes!
an update to my other post: when i'm taking a quiz I expect whatever material I used to help on the quiz to give me a clear answer or something similar to where I can make out that is the answer, if there isn't a clear answer to a question then how are you supposed to pass?

also as an Organizer I would be most active during the Summer cause no school in Summer

I’ll do that, thanks!
Update: taking the quiz rn, I found the gauntlet of this whole quiz, Question 9 is the hardest question of the whole thing
