I'm pretty sure you didn't draw that.

It looks to me like a piece of concept art or something released by the company that made the anime.

The anime was pretty good it kept me interested whenever I got a chance to watch it, I missed only a few episodes of it during the beginning.

Also that drawing of yours is very interesting let alone that the drawing on the left side is a screen shot as well.

i drew the pic of him and i keep sayin that my friend scanned it and used his gfx graphic designs to enhance the original
Stop repeating yourself. It doesn't make your argument any stronger.

I actually did rather enjoy this series. I liked the whole concept of a parallel existence overlapping ours, but needing to restructure the existing elemental components to do so. Very in line with the physics concepts of conservation of energy/matter.

As far as top 5 favourite cartoons go (and no, I won't say top 5 anime, and those of you on here who know me know the reasons why), list probably stands at Beast Wars, Gargoyles, Trigun, Conan the Adventurer, and Avatar: the Last Airbender.

It's amazing what a simple google search turns up.

I love you so much for listing that top 5, except for Conan I replace that X-Men

Please tell me why you won't say anime because only two of those are anime anyway which are Trigun and Avatar, the rest are cartoons.
If you want to get technical about it, ALL of them are anime.

The Japanese word "anime" is, in fact, an abbreviation of the Japanese word "animeshun" which, in actuality, is simply the Japanese pronunciation of the English word "animation".

That being said, Avatar is not Japanese. It's not from Japan, it's not animated in Japan, and it's not even stylized after the current trend in Shonen-style animation from Japan. The closest association it has with Japan is the fact that the Fire Nation is based off of the Japanese Imperial era. The Earth Kingdom, the Water Tribes, and the Air Nomads are based on China, the Inuit, and Tibet repectively. The show is made by Nickelodeon studios, a large division of which is situated in Canada (ironic, considering Nickelodeon doesn't really air in that nation). It is animated in South Korea, but then again, so are about 95% of all cartoons in the world these days. Korean animation studios are ridiculously cheap and turn out fairly good quality stuff, so most production companies use them these days.

I don't really use the term "anime" anymore when I'm referring to cartoons from Japan because it's an erroneous ascription. Anime MEANS cartoons, it's not exclusive to Japanese (or even Asian as a whole) animated things. If I spoke Japanese fluently, then maybe I'd use the term, but only when in conversation with someone and we were speaking in Japanese. Think about it this way; in Japan, they don't refer to cartoons from the West as "Karotunosu". They simply use the word "anime" or "animeshun".

its amazing how people dnt read or listen just shows ignorance and lack of understanding
You have a point but Japanese cartoons (Anime) start of as Manga (drawings with speech bubbles) but other cartoons from England and America don't. Also I already knew that Avatar came from America I just throught it was an anime but I guess I was wrong.

So you can call it what you want and I will call it what I want because in the end it is still the same thing no matter what you call it.
Spinster Wrote:If you want to get technical about it, ALL of them are anime.
(a lot more quoted stuff but I don't want to waste space)

It's rather convenient to have the "anime" label though. All the different types of animation/cartoons have a certain unique feel to it, and to me it warrants differentiation. I'll rather just say "anime" than "Japanese cartoons" when I refer to it, since in standard english usage, I don't think "anime" can be used to refer to non-Japanese animation. Correct me if the dictionary has been updated, though, I wouldn't be surprise if it is.
Well it is still the same in the dictionary so you are right. Heres the proof though.

For some reason though the dictionary I have says something completely different.
