Roar (ロア, Roa) is a Blade released by Takara Tomy as part of the Burst System as well as the Dynamite Battle Layer System. It debuted in Japan with the release of the B-186 Random Booster Vol. 26 on June 26th, 2021.
Roar, like its predecessor Dread, is a Left Spin Defense type Blade with a movable sub layer. Unlike Dread, roar consists of only 2 clockwise blades with an extra protrusion halfway to form 4 gaps, and a movable sub layer that fills in the gaps to make it rounder. The former state is termed as Counter Mode, while the latter is referred to as Defense Mode. As part of the Dynamite Battle Layer System, it can accomodate the low and high modes of any armor and left spin dynamite Core.
In theory the sub layer would fill in the gaps much like Dread and Arc Bahamut to decrease recoil by making the shape of Roar rounder. While this effect does work as intended, Roar's already round shape is still able to compensate in the event where the Roar combination doesn't lose locks.
==Use in Defense/Stamina combinations==
Roar can be used in the Defense/Stamina hybrid Roar Bahamut/Fafnir/Longinus/Spriggan Giga/Over Drift 0/10/6. Roar's defensive prowess is bolstered by the strong teeth of these cores and the high OWD of Giga/Over and 0/10/6 boosts its stamina significantly. This is strengthened by Drift's low centre of gravity and high KO resistance, allowing the combination to potentially outspin an opponent if a knockout is not achieved.
Roar's low recoil and round shape make it ideal for left spin defense combinations. Even with the advent of Guilty, Roar is still able to hold its ground

As such, Roar is a must have for competitive bladers.
