Full Version: Loose/wobbly Forge Discs on Hasbro beys?

I've noticed that some drivers seem to hold Forge Discs in place less snug than others - for example, I just got a Judgment Joker J5 and found that the Trick-H driver that comes with it gives the Forge Disc about 1-2mm of space that it can wobble around in, which I imagine isn't great for the driver, and probably the energy layer.

I'm not sure if it's tourney legal, but I found that if I pop the GT chip up before inserting the driver, that reduces the amount of room for the Forge Disc to move around and keeps it more stable.  Alternately, I'm thinking of putting a small piece of electrical tape on the raised wedge of the driver (where it makes contact with the Forge Disc).  Ideally, this will keep it from wobbling around but won't add any burst resistance, although it definitely won't be legal then.

Has anyone else tried to fix this issue?

I've got  some beys that do the same thing but the only difference is that mine have a little bit less space to move than yours I've  tried to think of ways to fix this but have come up with nothing
Thats hasbro for ya

This is what we call "part variation". Essentially no two parts are 100% exact, so occasionally you get a part that's a little looser/tighter than other versions of it, or in this case a bit narrower at the top. Not much that can be done about it within WBO guidelines though. Trick-H isn't a very notable driver anyways, so it's not like you're suffering a huge competitive loss.

Regardless, this wobbling isn't going to harm your layer by any significant amount, there's really not enough space to gain momentum to deal any real damage. Even on a tighter driver the disks are still usually able to find just a tiny space to wobble anyways no matter what you're putting together so the wobbling exists on basically everything unless the disk is pressed up snugly against the bottom of the layer. The bigger concern is that wobbly disks will decrease Stamina a little, but still not enough to be particularly notable outside of the most competitive matches. Really it's a very mild issue, and not a cause for serious concern. It could even be a mild boon for Defense, as more momentum from a hit goes into making the disk shake instead of knocking you towards a pocket.

The electrical tape thing I said I was going to try worked like a charm. Just take a small piece of tape, cut it in half, and place a piece on each side where the driver fits in the 2 gaps of the Forge Disc. While it won't be tournament legal, this doesn't seem to affect the amount of force needed to cause it to burst, and eliminates the rattle completely.

Aye, that's what I figured - I have a couple duplicates where one is a bit more tight than the other, but I chalked it up to being new vs worn until I got that Joker where it was loose out of the package (which is surprising, since the Hypersphere releases were typically very tight). While the wobbling could hypothetically help during impacts, I've also seen wobbling start right after a launch, so I'm more concerned with it banging around and shaving the plastic, or getting off balance and making Disc to Layer contact. The tape fix works perfectly for my purposes. :-)
Thanks for the update dainslaif I'll have to give it a go
Guys, this is all normal for Beyblades.

He's correct it's random if a disk wobbles or not and there's nothing we can do about it (Besides it's not that big of a deal)
No its not that big a deal it just gets annoying after a while

Eh, it's much louder than usual, and gets annoying, especially if you have kids that play with them a lot.  The tape fix 100% works to quiet them up for home usage, and considering it's completely reversible (in the off chance someone actually holds a non-pro, Hasbro-only event), it's good to have as an option.
