It looks awesome and I am soo, soo excited. I never saw Blood+ but I adore the OVA. The casting looks amazing, and going by the trailer they did a great job recreating the feel of the original.
It's slated to be released in North America in March 2009 (!!!).

I highly recommend watching the OVA. Even though it was made like 10+ years ago, it still looks amazing. It's incredibly gritty, dark, and massively entertaining.
