Random Beyblade Anime and Manga Thoughts

I think beyblade burst is little bit inspired from naruto.shu-sharingan(without tomoe) lui-rinnegan sharingan beats rinnegan even if its impossible.and what if valt gets a sage mode and aiga a jougan or phi and hearts a rinnesharingan (hope they arent kaguya's sons)

Nice thought.
Shu Sharingan similarity, agreed. Tick.
Lui, Rinnegan?! How?! I might compare him too? I don't know XD. Lui is one of a kind.
Aiga, Jougan, looks tough.
It' really difficult for me to compare Aiga and Boruto.. But I can't imagine giving a Jougan like power..  Maybe Achilles is his Jougan? XD
Phi and Hearts, no way Rinnesharingan. I might think of them as Madara and Obito instead.
Comparing Naruto/Boruto powers with Beyblade seems a little weird.
I will agree that the plots are very similar.
Until Cho-Z came.
Aiga and Boruto and seriously north and south pole.
Both might be cocky and arrogant but are worlds apart.
Boruto has something to look upto, something as a dream. He wants to be a ShadowKage, like his mentor, Sasuke. He wants to protect Konoha from the shadows.
But Aiga, I don't see his dream. Is it to win? Cause I have failed to understand the plot of this season.
I would be glad if anyone would explain me the plot!
Because all I have been seeing is, someone loses to someone, gets a new beyblade, comes back and defeats the other guy, he goes and creates a beyblade to wreck the other person, in a loop hole,With a few past character cameos. And maybe that Aiga dark power to keep us clinged to the anime?
Come on guys! Awesome battles are part of a story, not THE story!!
No hate for the season, but it kinda gets irritating that you are more than into the anime and the plot isn't clear.  So would be really glad if someone can explain me the plot!!

So yeah, the plots were similar upto some point.
Can compare some powers and characteristics, but at the end of the day Naruto is Naruto and Beyblade is Beyblade.
So they might be a little similar with character design and traits, but not gonna say that beyblade is 'inspired' by Naruto.

I think the plot is to show that winning isn’t everything. That’a what it seems like anyways. We can see when Agia/Aiger gets his new Cho-Z Achilles, he doesn’t care as much about losing to Shu. Where’s before the new Achilles Agia only wanted to win, and if he didn’t, he would get very upset.(See, that’s the thing about losing. It isn’t actually fun. Winnings were it’s at. ((Free’s quote I think)))Again, I am not sure, but I am pretty confident that is the plot.
In chapter 53 of the manga, Kyle Hakim introduces himself to Aiga as the Central American champion.  This could offer some explanation for why he wears a mask (we already know it’s a reference to Cerberus being a multi-headed dog, but why a mask specifically, whereas Ken had puppets?)

Masks are a huge part of the culture and folk art in Central American countries.  They are worn in public festivals that reenact history and legend.  The image on the right is a coyote mask from Guatemala.  See where I’m going with this?

Kyle's a champion? Damn, the show should've mentioned that, explains why he was so strong in the beginning.

Beyblade Burst: for a God or Metal Masters or G-Revolution like season 4, I’d do what Metal Masters did: keep Valt as the leader of team Japan and make his team a barrage of Ensemble Darkhorses from the season that aren’t supreme four members or other main characters that joined world teams: Ken, Orochi, Hoji and Naoki or Gou/Gabe.

Am I in the camp that thinks Zero G should’ve gotten another season. 4 and 3 of Zero G’s heroes and villains becoming a team to take on the rest of the world in a five v five match tournament would be interesting.

Honestly, I'd like another series of Zero-G since the toys had so much potential and the show had a lot of great ideas and some potentially good characters but a lot of it was glossed over and could've been executed better but yeah, I feel like another Zero-G series could've had potential.

If it was a world championship series, I'd imagine the whole team would combine one of their parts to make a team combo (chrome wheels from two bladers, a spin track from one blader and a bottom from one blader).
I liked Zero G, and it had a lot of potential, it just felt wasted in the show.

Actually, and especially after seeing Kitt and Toko, the "mechanic/analyser" characters using beyblades, I would've loved Zero G to explore a storyline: Where Maru becomes increasingly jealous of the fun, thrill and probably attention the beybladers get, which drives her to want to become a beyblader. Perhaps she could be in a blader persona where they don't know that it's her, that no one underestimates her if she wanted a challenge. I'd honestly love to see her have a beyblade and become a beyblader, sort of like Kenny but I would love to see her be an actual badass later on, like maybe she trains privately everyday for a while and uses her collected data to her advantage. Just an idea.

Like an inverse of Hikaru! Yeah, a character arc like that would be awesome. While Zero-G was airing, I was always hearing rumors that Mal/Maru was going to get her own beyblade and I was super excited, until it wasn't. Even if she only has about four battles, Madoka bey battled once and that was amazing, so I'd love that, especially for a male female character to be a blader. Perfect idea!

Now if only Toko had more character screentime focus in Chozetsu!

The Synchrome Wars. That'll be a fun combo. I always found it a shame Ren never got to use Synchrome. Her and Zyro would make one hell of a fiery combo.

Yeah, that's actually one of my personal gripes with Zero-G. It had a lot of potential and I wish that the characters experimented with different Synchrome combos (like how Maru mentioned Orojya Ifraid/Orochi Ifrit) rather than being stuck with the same partner. Look, I get that only certain Synchromes work with each other well due to how they're built (like Saramanda and Ifraid align with each other) and the bond of the duos but having episodes where the characters at least tried something whilst building up their friendship with each other would've been awesome like maybe have Zyro bond with Eight with Orojya Ifraid or something.
Yeah, the Unabara brothers got completely shafted. Yeah Kite got better character wise and defeated Kai's expy, but Eight was wasted all throughout. Without Synchrome he never won a one-on-one battle. Its why every blader except the Water elements got developed to some extent.

Thanks! It was an idea I had back when I was super into making Zero-G continuation fan series and beyblade concepts. I don't remember hearing rumours of Maru having a beyblade of her own, but if she did that would be cool. Although we never saw it, not even in the lost episodes.

And yeah, even if it was just a few times it would be something, but if she became both a mechanic/analyser and regular blader, she would easily be one of my favourite characters in the Metal Saga. Madokas one time of blading was okay, I wish we had more but she did save Leone so hey. I really think that if Beyblade wanted to have a female character on the show, they've got to make them bladers, and not lazy useless excuses like Hilary who was a really poor attempt at being a main female representative. Not to mention that I wanted Maru to deviate from being a Madoka clone, by being someone who actually admired and had a desire to beyblade, whereas Madoka preferred her role as a mechanic.

Sad thing is, I really liked Kite. He reminded me of a nerdy version of Kyoya and he posed as a huge threat towards Zero at first since he was the first opponent who Zero couldn't use his technique on (well... not until later anyway). It just sucks that as the strongest Water Blader of Zero-G, he was second fiddle to Yoshio (who isn't even the best Earth Blader) and I hated that he relied way too much on Synchromes.

Eight could've also been decent if the writers actually cared about him but he ended up being forgettable. It's a shame too, I really liked that he had that spunk and cockiness that Yu Tendo had and his bond with his brother could've been fleshed out too but he was so out of focus, he was probably the most out of focus of any Beyblade protagonist (yes, even more than Benkei). He should've had an arc where he was sick of always living under Kite's shadow and wants to become stronger on his own.

Gosh, I agree with this so much. Honestly, Beyblade couldve done much more to improve upon this. Madoka was a good female character, although she didnt Beyblade (and yes, we need someone with a desire to Beyblade). Although, I do remember a couple great female Bladers in the Metal Saga

As for Burst, we can all see that it isnt doing a good job so far. Really, Shasa made me somewhat disappointed at the writer’s attempt to make a female Blader

But seriously, it isnt that hard. Other familiar series like Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokémon are doing a good job with representation, so why isnt Beyblade trying? (I do get that the plot would be off somewhat, and there isnt enough time/pacing to squeeze everything in)

I don't believe that changing genders would affect the plot in any way, and I don't count changing familiar characters like Shu for instance. The only thing that would change is that they'd be referred to as "she" and "her". Like, they could've made the owner of Kukulcan a female and still retain Kurtz role. Shasa was an attempt at a female blader and while she does have moments of awesome, I hated that she never got a unique beyblade, yes I know her combo is technically unique but it wasn't new and was basically the same level as any other fodder. Her moments are few and far between anyway, compared to someone like Mariah or Ren.

While not having a female character isn't the biggest deal, I'd love more diversity in the cast, and would give a capable and awesome character some female fans could identify with.

Yep, I can agree with that. Loads of people wanted Shasa to have her own Bey, but apparently she never did. Same goes to the fact that she isnt featured heavily as much. Im guessing it was more of pacing/plot issue on that part (after all, the pacing is evidently wacky in Evolution)

They had another chance to change things around in Turbo/Super Z. And apparently, more male characters are introduced rather than female. Not that Im complaining; but yes, cast diversity is a good thing. I guess the writers are really sensitive about offending modern society (I wont bring up anything controversal, but we all know about the extreme people out there)
I think its more acceptable to have more females in Anime than in countries like China for example. Plus, (although I'm not sure if this is true, but the Battle Fortress game's characters were originally scrapped characters for the anime) the Metal Saga battle Fortress game had three female bladers alongside Hikaru, and I liked Makino and Rina, so I don't think they're that hesitatant to add more female characters who are bladers. They just won't.
Who knows, maybe in season 4.
Before Chozetsu was announced, I'd assume the season was going to be Valt forming a team of new and old characters that were neglected to coach and train them for the new generation of the bladers, and from the old I was going to pick characters I thought were neglected: Orochi, Yugo, Ken, Sasha, and Toko Since Kitt returned with a new bey, I'd love if season 4 they brought her back with her own.

You make a good point, although YuGiOh's female track record is...difficult to talk about in certain conditions.

Yeah I like them too. Kite’s rivalry with Yoshio was engaging! Seriously, a blader with a skateboard is cool and it worked for Quon, he was a supporting character but Eight got less than him? Come on writers. Your idea for an arc sounds good, maybe he finally would’ve gotten a special move…..you know I just realized not counting Mei or Konzern’s twin jewels, the water bladers hardly ever get upgrades or improvements in terms of special moves or prowess.
Okay, weird tangent. Battle Fortress came out around the time Tsubasa was halfway in the anime. Yu showed up around episode 18 or something, yet Tsubasa’s in the game while he isn’t. Anyone else find that completely weird.
Is Benkei really that hated? I checked tropes a while back and found out a lot of people hated him? I thought he was great in season 1 and fine in season 2. Its season 3 where he was just kinda there as backup. Not entirely useless since Johannes had a tone of backup, but still.

Benkei IS hated by many people, but Im guessing its due to his scrappy-like characterization and really annoying personality. Personally, I like Benkei because hes a good friend to Kyoya; and that hes actually a fun guy. Although, he hadnt been heavily featured as much; nor was really relevant to anything
I like Benkei decently, especially with the battle with Kyoya towards the end of season 1 with Battle Bladers. (Maximum Stampede looked so cool). He was just a nice and fun guy for me.

Personally, he was somewhat bearable. Not as peppy as Masamune (not disliking Masamune at all. He was fairly entertaining on-screen), although shouldve been somewhat more featured
I have nothing against Benkei as a character himself, while his catchphrase gets rather annoying, he himself is alright and had some good development during the first ten episodes of Metal Fusion. Like someone mentioned, the battle in episode 43 was awesome. In Metal Fusion, he's okay, I didn't mind him there.

In Season 2, he was pretty funny, I didn't mind that he never got an upgrade too much since Kenta and Kyoya never did anyway. Not to mention he was cool and even got to be a World Champion representative, and was a total boss against the annoying as all hell Garcia twins.

Season 3 was probably my least favourite version if only because I hated how unfocused he was compared to the rest of the cast... including former newcomer Masamune. And this is something I hated in Sagas after the classic ones, is that original main characters either get noticeably less focus like Benkei or just disappear later on mostly like Wakiya, Daina and especially Kensuke. I also never liked that Benkei never got a 4D beyblade, I mean you don't need him to be a legendary blader, I don't expect that to happen (even if it does suck all four original main characters except Benkei got to be a Four Season blader), I would've loved a Bull 4D upgrade, even if it wasn't a legendary blader, something like Blitz Unicorno proves that. There was no Aquila or Libra upgrade either which also sucks.

I liked that Benkei got a more prominent role in Zero G, I wish he had a Zero G Bull beyblade of his own to perhaps train with Zero (which I did a concept on), but I do like his more mentor role here, as well as acting as a decent comic relief. This was probably my favourite Benkei, it's just a shame Zero G never lasted as long to enjoy it more.

So I think Benkei is alright overall, I don't listen to the general consensus if I don't agree, TV Tropes isn't gospel after all. That said, I find the Garcias, especially Enzo and Selen FAR worse than Benkei could ever be.

Honestly, I think all these points highlighted the anime's worst flaw: Pacing plus focus. Its quite evident in each Beyblade series. The franchise is focusing way more on hyping and selling Beys, rather than working on the plot and characters. I would be fine if Burst released an episode every two weeks (if that would make the plot better; improvising, y'know?

We have tons of Bladers in the franchise, almost half of them not even featured as much. Nor getting more focus on and getting upgrades. Some even becoming butt of many jokes (ex. Wakiya from Burst)
