Chapter 3
An unexpected turn of events! let’s watch tv and ignore the end.
- The food is ready! – My dad says, with his head in the attic, he then leaves.
- What a timing. – Says Sarah – You can battle Max after we eat.
Callum stays emotionless; we all go downstairs to the kitchen. There was a lot of pizzas, apparently my dad wanted to play safe and just made pizza, I don’t blame him. We all sit and start eating, except Callum: he took a plate, grabbed some slices, and then leaves. My dad was kind of surprised.
- Don’t worry, he will come back. – Kevin says
Anyways, we were eating and having a good time, and knowing each other better, eventually Callum came back. My brother (who was also there) turned on the tv, while he was scrolling across the channels, he finds out about BeyBattleTV, it’s a channel where, normally, people send broad-casted battles and the owners, that are hired from Beyblade company (like BeyTube), select a few to show on tv. The battle was between a guy named Clio and the other named William.
- Oh look. It’s Clio. – Sarah says, then looks at me – He’s Callum friend, I bet you won’t like him.
- Let’s see about that when I see him – I say
Clio is in the middle of a battle; his bey is called Pressure Chaos. While his opponent is using Twister Wyvern. Wyvern is near the stadium wall and comes back, like a pendulum. As they make contact, Clio yells “Pressure Smash”, one of Chaos blades goes in and it sends Wyvern in the air, bursting it.
- With a strong move, Clio opens the score with 2 points! – Says the announcer.
- Oh yeah! Me and Chaos are the best! – Clio says, with a smile
- Don’t be so confident, I’ll beat you! – William replies
- I’d like to see you try. – Clio says, attaching Chaos to his launcher.
Three, Two, One, Go Shoot. Both beys land on the stadium and start clashing in the middle, Chaos gets pushed away from the center and slams onto the wall, but it absorbs the impact, then it starts going back and clashes hard against Wyvern, but it’s free spinning ring transfers the impact. Some time later Wyvern is wobbling while Chaos is still spinning, eventually Wyvern stops spinning.
- And it seems like Chaos is a stamina monster! – says one of the announcers.
- It won against Twister Wyvern without losing a point! Clio was not joking. – says the second announcer
Then the outro plays, the results zooms out and go on the bottom, with their photos and combos, while the commercial is playing on the top.
- Pressure Chaos seems strong, and it also has a lot of stamina – I say
- That’s because It has OWD, a good amount of weight and a driver made from glass – Kevin replies
- Why-... forget it – I say, giving up on trying to understand
It starts to get late, so we say goodbye. As they’re leaving, Callum shows his bey to me.
- Don’t worry, I won’t forget. - I say to Callum, then I wave my hand – Bye!
- See you tomorrow at the park after school! – Sarah says.
Then I close the door, my dad looks at me with a shocked look, I ask him what’s wrong.
- It’s just that... you made friends. – He says – What about you go to sleep? I bought all your and your brother’s school material for tomorrow.
- Yeah... – I say – Goodnight.
I get ready for sleep, as I’m in my bed I look on Magnesium. “Tomorrow will be a busy day, are you ready for it?” I say in my mind, suddenly I hear “Sure”. I almost jump out of my bed.
- What the... – I say, looking around – I must be hearing things...
I lay down and fall asleep. Then suddenly appear on a void, everything is dark except me.
- Hello? – I say, looking around for anything.
A tree appears Infront of me, it has an arena on the left. On the arena, I see two people battling, one is a little girl and the other is an older boy, Me and my brother. I’m using a King Kerbeus Central Orbit from Husbri and my brother a Lost Longinus Jerk Impact, my bey gets thrown out of the stadium onto my feet, I grab it and look at it. “Some things never change” I say to myself. Suddenly I see myself 1 year later, I’m in my room with black clothes, I can hear someone talking:
- Can I enter? I just want to talk. – A familiar voice says.
- Go away – My little self says, sobbing.
Here we are again, for some context my mother died when I was about 7 years old. I got very sad about that and just isolated myself from people. A tear falls from my eye. Another time-skip happens, this time I’m 10 and I’m on the living room from your old house, I’m sitting on the sofa and both my dad and brother are giving me a present. “Why am I here?” I say, but no sound comes out of my mouth.
- You’ve had a lot of good and bad moments. – a mysterious voice says – and seems like you’re still in the past.
- Who are you? Is that myself? – I ask, confused
The mysterious voice laughs a little, and then says:
- I’m your bey, Magnesium. And who are you?
- Am I going crazy? – I say and look around – I’m Max...
- And who is Max? What are your motivations? Your dreams and nightmares? – Asks “Magnesium”.
I’m very confused at this point, I try to touch myself, but I don’t feel it.
- Am I on therapy again? You’re the lady with the glasses that asks me questions? – I say – I think it was... Ms. Ellen?
The voice giggles a bit more and says:
- One day you’ll get it, until then... – Then I wake up by the sound of the alarm, I turn my head and see Magnesium shining from the sun.
“That was weird” I say to myself “Was that you? Probably it was just a dream”.
