Chapter 9: Will Friendship Prevail?

Sands and Zion exited the tunnel at last. They entered the WBO Discord server, which was free of black fog. It looks relatively normal if you didn’t count some off-limit zones and buildings in repair. Other than that, a fair amount of people still went to the Discord server.

BurningSands (notices Longinox): Hey!

Longinox: What’s going on? You two looked like you just ran for your lives.

ZionandBirddo: Which is exactly what we did. 

Longinox: Wait, what?

BurningSands: Is A here yet? Some people on the server might be in danger.

Longinox: Not that I know of. What’s going on? 

ZionandBirddo: There’s nearly no time to explain. A just terrorized the forums and now he might be after Sands’ friends. 

BurningSands: To be honest, I don’t really know who counts as my friend. For all I know, YOU could be kidnapped by A, Longinox.

Longinox (kicks a rock): That does not sound fun. Man, how many days without drama can we get? 

BurningSands: Maybe a lot if we get moving. We have to move and warn everyone real quick. The people I can think of at the top of my head are Pixi, Cheeto, and Delta.

ZionandBirddo: You admitted that you appreciate Pixi, then?

BurningSands: Shut up.

ZionandBirddo: Fine.

Longinox: Let’s get going, then!

So the three of them ran as fast as they could throughout the Discord, hoping to find Sands’s friends in time. But then… it appeared as if Longinox was leading them somewhere!

BurningSands: There’s so many alleys and turns. Are we sure we are going to the right place?

ZionandBirddo: We should be finding them near the General building or the Animanga building. Where are we?

They follow Longinox with a few more turns. They enter a dark corner. Sands wasn’t sure what this place translated to in the Discord server — a deleted channel? A channel hardly anyone spoke in? 

Longinox: There they are!

Lights turn on on one side of the corner. The lights reveal Pixi, Cheeto, and Delta. 

But oh no! Each of them were individually tied up by chains hanging from an overhang. Underneath them was a huge, dark pit. Overseeing the chained WBO users were Mystic, Floof, Cinder, and B.

They had duct tape over their mouths and were looking down with fear.

BurningSands: You guys again! And uh, you got Cinder too!

MysticZone: I hope you’re not attached to Cinder, are you? Pathetic. 

BurningSands (eyes wide): No way, Cinder is weird! And Cinder, are you okay?

Cindercast: I am fine, thanks for asking. >:]

Galactic Floof: Ooooo she doesn’t know!

Longinox (punches Sands, knocking her over): Get real! Cinder isn’t here for you. Cinder is with us, being A’s approved ally. 

ZionandBirddo: How dare you punch Sands like that? 

BurningSands (with X’s on her eyes): Longinox, no way. Not you too!

Zion runs towards Longinox with a metal bar they found nearby.

BladerB (points at Zion): Not so fast! (He supernaturally flings Zion back and into a trash can) Do that one more time and we will chain you up like we did with Fairy, Beta, and Lays.

Galactic Floof: Based on their resistance to A’s power, it might be hard to do that but we can always still try to chain them.

MysticZone: I can’t wait to do that.

BurningSands (rubs her forehead): It’s Pixi, not Fairy. And Delta is nowhere close to Beta! And… Lays?

Cindercast: Whatever, FreezingSands.

Galactic Floof: Nice one, Cinder. (Cinder does a thumbs-up)

BladerB (points at Zion, who is still in the trash can): And you should stay there. It’ll be a shame if you continue to fight back. We have a worse fate waiting for you if you try, if you’re excited to know what we want with you.

MysticZone: You’re obviously different from the other WBO users. We don’t exactly know why or how, but it’s super annoying to deal with.

ZionandBirddo (rolls eyes): Okay.

BurningSands: What are my friends doing up there? Hanging over that dark pit?

BladerB: I’m here to challenge you. I have selected you as the person I want to debate against, and the challenge won’t end until you fully go through with it. (He looks at the pit, which started to make noises and have light shining from it)

Over Pixi, Delta, and Cheeto was obviously not above any normal pit. But Sands wondered why they were terrified.

BladerB: There’s a terrible fate waiting for them if you decline. Decline, and your friends fall into that pit. That pit is full of cursed Beyblade content — the worst ships, the most eye-bleaching fanart, the worst English dub voices on repeat… you name it! They fall into it, they get to suffer from cursed Beyblade content for all of eternity!

Cindercast: I wouldn’t mind falling in there myself. There’s Lucy a—

ZionandBirddo: ...What?

MysticZone (whacks Cinder): Shut up. We get it and we don’t need to hear it, understand? 

Longinox (stands next to Mystic, Floof, and Cinder): Brilliant. Finally the WBO doesn’t have to see Pixi ever again. But I do admit, too bad Delta and Cheeto are a part of it.

BladerB: Lose my debate and they will fall into the pit. To save them, you must win against me. 

BurningSands (grimaces and slowly stands up): Fine, that’s a deal.

Chapter 8: A and His Fury!

BurningSands: Okay, but we can defeat you.

A: Oh really?

With a wave of his hand, some users began to glow. Those users were i’m batman, tenma, PinkRose, and BeybladeManiac0. Zion glowed as well but for some reason, stopped glowing (Sands: Did you just resist A’s power…?). With another wave of his hand, the said users were tugged into the air and then encased inside a bubble-like sphere. They hovered far overhead, away from A so no one knew it was his doing.

A: That’s odd. Bird person, you’re supposed to be trapped too! What are you doing?

ZionandBirddo: Oh no.

BurningSands: We can ask YOU what you’re doing too, A. And how are you doing that? Does A stand for “A Hacker” after all? 

The four trapped users were pounding on their trap, trying to scream and get out. 

i’m batman: You big idiot! Stop doing this to us!

tenma (hitting the bubble): Sands!

BeybladeManiac0 (sulks inside the bubble): I wish I knew what was going on.

PinkRose: I’m both impressed and unimpressed.

ZionandBirddo: You better not hurt them! 

A: Oh, I’m not planning to. But, well, as a non-human I might! I am not human so I am not bound by your kind’s friendshippy rules.

BeybladeManiac0: Didn’t you just try to pretend you’re a human?

A (points): Shut it!

BeybladeManiac0 (opens mouth, but can’t talk): …!

ZionandBirddo: That was sad. You really tried to pretend you’re a human for a few minutes and now you reveal yourself as non-human.

Multiple people come by to watch what was happening, unaware that A was the one who trapped four users inside a bubble-like trap.

A: Whatever! Cut to the chase — Sands, if you don’t want your… er. (looks at the crowd)

With a wave of his hand, A unleashed black fog. Despite Sands and Zion’s horror, the black fog didn’t engulf them. Instead, it blocked the crowd from seeing A’s standoff with the users, putting the users into a fog-free circle. It even blocked the sky above them, separating the trapped users from A, Sands, and Zion.

ZionandBirddo: The Shadow Realm?

A: What? I’m just separating us from the crowd and trapped folks, that’s all. Privacy matters, you know? But that didn’t matter to the Discord idiots, who screenshotted my messages and snitched to the mods. 

Meanwhile, the crowd behind the black fog were panicking. They couldn’t see each other and were too afraid to move!

Cryaboutit?: Is the site being hacked??

Random user: I can’t see anything! Is the WBO down?

GhostFox: What’s going on? 

BurningSands (grumbles): This is cheating! We are normal humans with no powers. 

A: Sucks to be you. As a non-human being, I can do whatever I want. I even corrupted my own device so that I can exploit many sites and apps!

ZionandBirddo: I’m only going to ask how did a black cloud went to a store to buy a PC.

A: That’s a secret! … Anyway, as I was saying — Sands, if you don’t want other friends to be taken away, you better go to Discord before I get an alt. You don’t want me scooping your Discord pals away too, right?

BurningSands (defeated): No, I don’t. 

Sands thinks about all the other people on Discord. Pixi, Longinox, Cheeto, Delta… But maybe Cinder can be scooped up. Cinder is plain weird.

ZionandBirddo: Discord? This could be a trap.

A (points to one direction, in which a fog-free tunnel is created): Maybe, maybe not. Now, I cleared the way for you both to go find your way to the WBO Discord. Hurry up before I decide to kidnap the rest of your friends!

Without a word, both of them start running towards Discord.

Meanwhile, on the Discord side… within a shady alleyway.

MysticZone: Good job, L. You managed to befriend Sands somewhat. Hopefully you can trick her real good, pretending to be a helpful friend. She deserves it.

BladerB: And at last, I am unmuted. Sands will be having the best time of her life when she gets here.

Galactic Floof: I mean, not really.

MysticZone: Floof, shut up.

Galactic Floof: Hey!

Longinox (chuckles): She will be coming soon, with Zion I heard. Either way, she’s a goner.

Galactic Floof: Nice one, Cinder. (Cinder does a thumbs-up)

BladerB (points at Zion, who is still in the trash can): And you should stay there. It’ll be a shame if you continue to fight back. We have a worse fate waiting for you if you try, if you’re excited to know what we want with you.

MysticZone: You’re obviously different from the other WBO users. We don’t exactly know why or how, but it’s super annoying to deal with.

ZionandBirddo (rolls eyes): Okay.

BurningSands: What are my friends doing up there? Hanging over that dark pit?

BladerB: I’m here to challenge you. I have selected you as the person I want to debate against, and the challenge won’t end until you fully go through with it. (He looks at the pit, which started to make noises and have light shining from it)

Over Pixi, Delta, and Cheeto was obviously not above any normal pit. But Sands wondered why they were terrified.

BladerB: There’s a terrible fate waiting for them if you decline. Decline, and your friends fall into that pit. That pit is full of cursed Beyblade content — the worst ships, the most eye-bleaching fanart, the worst English dub voices on repeat… you name it! They fall into it, they get to suffer from cursed Beyblade content for all of eternity!

Cindercast: I wouldn’t mind falling in there myself. There’s Lucy a—

ZionandBirddo: ...What?

MysticZone (whacks Cinder): Shut up. We get it and we don’t need to hear it, understand? 

Longinox (stands next to Mystic, Floof, and Cinder): Brilliant. Finally the WBO doesn’t have to see Pixi ever again. But I do admit, too bad Delta and Cheeto are a part of it.

BladerB: Lose my debate and they will fall into the pit. To save them, you must win against me. 

BurningSands (grimaces and slowly stands up): Fine, that’s a deal.

BurningSands: So, what’s the hot topic today?

BladerB (smirks): Let’s debate about the ethics of WBO rules. We shall explore whether they are just or fair. Fun, isn’t it? 

Cindercast: Now that’s a good topic to debate about!

Longinox: Roast Sands!

BladerB: I suppose we will give our sides and reasoning until one of us gives up. And in this case — giving up refers to having no reasons left. If you show a huge amount of hesitation and anxiety while trying to find a way to debate, you lose!

MysticZone (with a huge sword in hand): We all know Sands’s insecurity — she is very anxious, so this wouldn’t be a problem, wouldn’t it?

Galactic Floof: Heh, that sword is looking real sharp today. 

BladerB: Mystic here can smell fear and anxiety just like how he smells stupidity. If he decides that you are close to conceding, he gets to jump up and cut the chains with that huge sword. Then your friends get to fall into the pit!

BurningSands (somewhat anxious, and looks at Zion for a bit): Um, okay. Deal!

BladerB: My turn first! And I want to say that the WBO has unjust rules. For example, many people are saying pretty weird and questionable things while A gets banned for the same behavior. Is there a user bias? Let’s hear from you, Sands.

Sands shrinks a little, and then looks at B.

BurningSands: Um, can you repeat that? I didn’t quite catch it.

BladerB patiently repeats that.

BurningSands: Sorry again — I can’t hear. 

BladerB patiently repeats that again.

BurningSands: Again? I can’t hear. 

BladerB: But you are IN FRONT OF ME!

BurningSands (snaps): Give me a break! I don’t want to be TMI, but I have a middle ear infection and my ear is clogged. It’s not fun. And I suspect my other ear might be next...

With a scowl, B repeats his ideas.

BurningSands: I’m sorry, what is that?

BladerB: I was saying —

BurningSands (blinks): Louder, please! I can’t hear!

BladerB: STOP!!!

BurningSands (steps back): Hey, don’t get mad at me. I’m trying to debate but you are too quiet. Don’t tell me you will concede because you aren’t patient enough to debate?

ZionandBirddo: (giggles from the trash can)

Longinox: Stop it, Bird person!

BurningSands: Well, what is it? 

BladerB repeats his claim even louder.

BurningSands: OKAY NOW I HEAR IT! But may I ask if you can paraphrase it? You worded it a little too weirdly, sorry about that.

BladerB (too angry): JUST SHUT UP! I SAID MY CLAIM SO NOW IT’S YOUR TURN TO ARGUE!

BurningSands: YOU JERK YOU ARE NOT PARAPHRASING IT!

The entire area watches B and Sands yell at each other back and forth. It was not even a debate at all. It was just a series of telling one another to be quiet and stop.

MysticZone (facepalms): With this commotion, everyone is going to hear them! 

Cindercast: That’s a yikes.

ZionandBirddo (chuckles and swats a fly away): I think that’s what Sands was trying to do!

MysticZone: What?

BusyBlader (voice from somewhere): I think that is Sands yelling. I told you guys that was her! 

hex4: All the way back here? No way.

GhostFox: Is that a familiar voice yelling?

BladerB (tries to punch Sands): STOP! Please, just stop. I’m trying to debate but you JUST CANNOT HEAR!

BusyBlader (appears): Aha! I knew there was suspicious activity around here. See, guys? I was right to report to the mods.

WBO Staff 1 (adjusts their hair): Are you guys the trolls the WBO keeps talking about? And why are our members chained up?

BusyBlader (points at B): That’s B! 

BladerB: YOU ALL GET OUT! I’m trying to debate with Sands here. Leave us be!

Galactic Floof: B, this means we have to run!

MysticZone (drops sword): RUN!

Cindercast (starts running): Yikes!!

BladerB: No fair! I’m not done debating yet! I can’t fail A. (Grabs Mystic’s sword)

WBO Staff 2: Debate with this! (Points finger at B, in which a laser beam comes out) BAN BEAM!

Longinox (looks at B): Dude, start running!

B deflects the staff member’s Ban Beam with the sword. 

BurningSands (smirks): Rereading the first Yu-gi-oh! manga volumes worked. Learning Yami Yugi’s tricks paid off. 

ZionandBirddo: Hooray for WBO staff!

BladerB: This can’t be! If I can’t debate properly, then I have to take these members to make up for my failure! (Looks up, hoping to cut the chains of Sands’ friends)

The rest of the staff shoot their Ban Beams, with Busy and the rest of the WBO cheering. Zion jumps out of the can and ushers Sands to take cover.

Floof unfortunately got hit with the beam. They’re now banned! Mystic, Cinder, and Longinox all run faster to avoid the beams.

BladerB (tries to summon a portal): THAT’S IT! I will cut your chains and you will all fall into the portal and into A’s Forbidden Beyblade server, where you will be kept captive. And if the rest of you try to attack me still, I will summon a portal RIGHT BELOW YOU to take you in!

Much to Sands’ amusement, no one tells B that the WBO Discord server mutes you automatically for posting an invite to other servers. Even the staff members stop shooting, wanting to watch B getting himself cursed. It was super satisfying — everyone wanted to ensure that B cursed himself, and thus no one wants to tell him that invites aren’t allowed!

BladerB: I did it! I will get A what he wants, then I will come back to debate another day. (He noticed that his body was quickly disintegrating) WHAT? No — stop!!! 

B disappears completely. The WBO staff members’ walkie-talkie goes off:

“BladerB has been banned for multiple infractions”

BusyBlader: Haha, B did himself real good. He gets muted and in trouble for debating, and posting invites was the last straw. (Everyone cheers)

BurningSands (nods): Very fitting. Satisfying, given that he flung you into a building. 

ZionandBirddo: Even Floof got oofed! 

BurningSands: Awesome rhyme.

WBO Staff 3: Alright guys, move along now. We need some space to save the chained WBO users real quick. And that’s something only the WBO staff can safely do.

This one has to be the single funniest chapter yet, and all previous chapters where pretty funny. Loved Sands doing the Yami trick XD
Also, BAN BEAM. That sounds both very funny and a bit badass at the same time, and hooray for it saving our friends!
Now, where is A and what is he doing about all of this...?

Chapter 11: Speaking of the Legend

Deep in the Forbidden Beyblade server, there was a private channel. The private channel appeared as an abandoned warehouse with many locked entrances. The place was reserved for A and his most trusted allies, and no one else. Not when it appeared that the WBO had an upper hand.

A and his allies were in the center of the warehouse, with their captives in the same bubble-like shapes hanging above. PinkRose, BeybladeManiac0, i’m batman, and tenma all sulked in their bubbles with boredom.

BladerB: I got banned from the WBO server! How come no one ever told me that they automatically punished users for sending invites?

MysticZone: To be fair, I would have stopped you but you proved to be loud and super dumb. I think being banned from the server will teach you a lesson, good riddance.

Longinox: I agree, your debates get obnoxious after a while. Just like how everyone keeps saying “sus” in the chat.

Cindercast: Floof got banned too. Curse those banning laser beams!

Galactic Floof: Those WBO staff are better than we think. 

MysticZone (scowls): You didn’t even run fast enough. I’m not very impressed with that, you know. 

Galactic Floof (rolls eyes): I know, I know.

A (as a black cloud again): You all are very disappointing. You didn’t even manage to get at least one captive!

All of the captives above could only look at each other with happiness, since A had magically muted them all. Yes, Sands and Zion had foiled their plans!

MysticZone (taps feet): We still have the forums to take over. It’s not the end of the world.

Cindercast: But what can we do? We can’t try to intimidate the WBO the normal way, or else the staff will catch us.

BladerB: The forums! I can try to debate people there. I can destroy so many threads that way and terrorise the kids, and that will be so fun to watch.

MysticZone: Do you have a personality besides debating? That’s how the mods find us really quick, because you keep talking. We need another plan.

BladerB (raises a hand): Well I have THIS!

B then points at Cinder, much to their confusion. Turns out, B was trying to demonstrate an ability everyone saw before: flinging people by shouting. And thus, Cinder was thrown back and into multiple crates.

Cindercast: OOF!

Galactic Floof (blinks): ...That’s not a personality.

MysticZone: And that’s a power. The power of being obnoxious.

BladerB: I don’t care.

A: Whatever, at least it’s mildly helpful. B, you must stop being the debate vampire. You can’t just go around asking for debates and to go from start to finish. You must use your powers to full potential.

Longinox: And if you did that, then we would have finished things quickly. We could decimate Sands and Zion quickly if we tried our best.

Galactic Floof: Sands is smarter than she lets on. Kudos for that I guess.

MysticZone: It’s really hard to tell. She knows absolutely nothing about me, and she even got tricked into thinking Longinox is a friend.

BladerB: And she tricked me, too! That dumb user.

Cindercast (finally gets up from the crate pile): What if she is powerful? I sometimes suspect that she could summon her Lucy meme like a Pokémon! I don’t like the sound of that.

MysticZone (scowls even more): Knock it off! Lucy isn’t real, and Sands is just as stupid as any other WBO user.

Longinox: Don’t forget we have to focus on Zion too. From what we know, Zion is a tiny bit more powerful than normal WBO users. Even more powerful than Sands! 

BladerB: We can’t wait, then. What if Zion unleashes their true potential? 

Cinder (nearly throws tantrum): Lucy must be real! 

Galactic Floof: But do you know what is real? The supposed legend: The staff members’ Ban Hammer! I saw it before and it is the supreme weapon. I heard that only mods are able to wield it, obviously, as the weapon would reject normal hands.

A: Excuse me?

Longinox: The Discorders always joked about the Ban Hammer. What’s so special?

Galactic Floof: Well, there are normal Ban Hammers. But the mods have what is called THE Ban Hammer, the one and only supreme weapon. Not only can it ban people, it is capable of destroying the entire WBO.

MysticZone: You idiot. You knew that and it took you quite a long time to even tell us? I was starting to think you’re a useless minion who did nothing but congratulate the good guys.

Cindercast: Well, it’s to turn the tide of the fanfic for Bro —

Longinox: What fanfic?

A (chuckles): It doesn’t matter! Now we have to do something — we can try to steal the master Ban Hammer. I’m not human, so I can hold the master Ban Hammer.

Longinox: Right, because we are normal users and can’t hold it. But A, he can bend reality and make it so that he wields it.

Cindercast: I call dibs on touching it first, though. Just to be cool.

MysticZone: Shut it!

BladerB: Finally, we can make the site beg for mercy once we steal it.

A: I will become the new wielder of the master Ban Hammer. Maybe it can destroy the WBO, huh? But what if I… use it to shape it to my liking? Kingdom of chaos and Beyblade, here I come!
