After αpocalypse on Sunday, November 3rd, 2019 at High Park we will be hosting this small unranked, experimental Burst Classic Format event where we will be testing the new first stage "Pick 3, Choose 1" battle style.

If you’re interested in helping us test out a new and fun way of playing Beyblade, join us for this tournament! See the format specific rules below.

First Stage - Pick 3, Choose 1 Rules

1. When a match between two players is announced, each player assembles three combos with no repeating parts in secret.

2. After both players have their Beyblades ready, they turn around and present their combinations to their opponent.  At this point spin directions or modes on parts which require disassembly can no longer be changed.

3. Each player is given 30 seconds to identify the Beyblades presented.

4. Then, each player turns around and makes their final selection of which Beyblade they will use from the three combos they presented to their opponent in secret. They also choose their launcher.

5. The match then continues as a normal match between the two selected Beyblades.

Note: All other existing WBO Burst Format rules unrelated to the match ruleset outlined above will apply for this event. Finals will be played usimng the regular WBO Deck Format.

Registration & Participant Limit (12)

  • Registration begins at roughly 2:30PM.
  • Registration ends at roughly 2:45PM. We will begin the tournament shortly thereafter.
  • See more details under "Need-to-Know Information" below.
  • The start time of this event will ultimately depend on how long the first event of the day–What Goes Round Comes Around–takes.
Participant Cap Details
  • This tournament has a maximum participant limit of 12 players.
  • If you are certain you can make it, please hit the blue JOIN TOURNAMENT button at the top of this page to register confirm your spot!
  • Once 12 players have registered, you may not be able to enter the tournament.
  • As such, only users registered on the list at the top of the event page will be guaranteed a spot in the tournament provided they arrive before registration ends.
  • If the participant limit is reached, any additional players may be added to a wait list on the day of the event (in person only) and will be added into the tournament should any of the users registered online fail to arrive on time.
  • If you are unable to make it to the event, DO NOT hit the "Join Tournament" button. If you need to withdraw, hit the UNJOIN/LEAVE TOURNAMENT button.
  • If something unexpected comes up last minute and you cannot come, please post in this thread. Any players who sign up on this thread and do not show up without any prior notice may receive a warning in accordance with our Community Rules.

Location
We'll be playing outside on the grass in front of the High Park Nature Centre. See below:

If you're coming to High Park via the Bloor St W entrance, just follow that road down on the right side and you'll see the large building/shelter on the left hand side before you reach the tennis courts. We will be playing in the area on the grass in front of it. If you have any questions about the location, please post here!

NOTE: Public washrooms can be found just west of the Bloor St W entrance of High Park. There are no public washrooms available at the High Park Nature Centre. Do not knock on their door asking to enter.

Tournament Bracket on Challonge

As always, during the tournament while we cannot give you a set time for when your next match will take place, you are welcome to follow along with the tournament bracket on Challonge. Challonge is the management tool we use to run the event.

No Bey? No Prob!
Don't have any Beyblades from this series? No problem! We would be happy to lend a Beyblade and launcher to you to use for your tournament matches!

Have a BeyStadium? Bring it!
We will be bringing stadiums for this event, but more are always welcome! Any BeyStadium is fine for free play, but BeyStadium Standard Types (pictured below) are particularly appreciated. If you can bring one, please post here to let us know.

Open your account page on your mobile device (if possible) during registration to help us keep things quick.

Now to spend 10 hours testing for Burst Classic xD

Is there any other chance I can get in
Because I have only been to one tournament
Tell me if there is another chance to get in

There would still be a chance if some confirmed people don't show up! As it mentions on this page:

"If the participant limit is reached, any additional players may be added to a wait list on the day of the event (in person only) and will be added into the tournament should any of the users registered online fail to arrive on time."

I cannot guarantee a spot for you unfortunately, but I would say that there is almost always a handful of spots available on the day of the event for people who show up early and join the wait list.

That being said, you're welcome to attend and play for fun in our free play stadiums separate from the tournament too!
Only ended up with five people for this event, but it was fun nevertheless! Thanks to Justin TC, Newtype, henwooja1, and Tahoor v2 for sticking around despite the cold!

1st: henwooja1
2nd: Kei
3rd: Tahoor v2
