What is the WBO? - sicat27 - May. 02, 2010

Hello, im new to the WBO, just got into a beyblade again, I was into beyblade when i was a child around like 10 and now im a little older and back at it. Me and my brother only have one beyblade at the moment (hasbro strata dragoon) with only 1 ripcord and launcher. Anyways, my real question is, what is the WBO? what is it about? and what do you get if you subscribe that 10 dollars for a year thing??

Thanks everyone Smile

There's some information here:

http://worldbeyblade.org/Thread-Questions-about-the-WBO?pid=264143#pid264143

The WBO is the World Beyblade Organization, where Beyblade fans all over the world can gather and talk about the hobby we all love. It's just a place for discussion.

As for the Passport, there is more information here:

http://worldbeyblade.org/subscribe.php

It means that you get free access to all WBO organised tournaments, and also means you are helping support the WBO.

The World Beyblade Organization is the unoficial governing body of beyblade, created at a time when the hobby was on hiatus. For the subscription you get free entrance to any event held by us that you attend. We also have the large body of information beywiki. Beyblade has recently been rereleased in Canada with BEYBLADE: Metal Fusion, and has been running since 2008 in Japan.

EDIT: ninja'd

Of course, a Blader Passport would be the recommended option for new users!

We also host various tournaments and events throughout the year as well as contests, give-aways, and other actitivies. We have a BeyPoint System where members can battle one another for points, and are ranked amongst one other. The BeyPoint System is currently suspended though, but it should be back up soon!

So about the blader passport, it would just give me the free entries into tournaments right?? Well the reason I asked if I can just donate was because I doubt I would be able to go to tournaments unless it was something online, unless the tournament was in Edmonton, Alberta. About the beypoints, most tournaments are ...in the US?

RE: What is the WBO? - Bey Brad - May. 02, 2010

I'd say more tournaments happen in the UK and Canada than in the US. You can also host your own tournaments.

Yes, if you purchase a Blader Passport, you will not have to pay the $5 tournament fee. This Blader Passport is valid for one year. By getting a Blader Passport, you are also donating to the WBO.

Not much has happened in the US for a while now, which I find odd.

RE: What is the WBO? - sicat27 - May. 02, 2010

ahh well I'll donate eventually...I want to buy some beyblades seeing as I don't have any (strate dragoon is my brothers) hehe. I also find that surprising...If a tournament happens in alberta...i'll be asking my parents to take me Smile what are the prizes??

It depends on what the tournament organizers decide.

RE: What is the WBO? - sicat27 - May. 02, 2010

RE: What is the WBO? - Benkei - May. 02, 2010

Beyblades, and Beyblade accessories.

RE: What is the WBO? - sicat27 - May. 02, 2010

cool, thats pretty awesome, it sucks that i can't go to events Uncertain

RE: What is the WBO? - Kai-V - May. 02, 2010

Cash will most likely not be accepted as prize because it would resemble gambling, which Beyblade is not.

ahh ic thanks.
