Hey, does anyone know if the Golden L-Drago suffer from the Gold Plastic Syndrome ?

I'm assuming you mean Lightning L-Drago and not the Metal System L-Drago, since that doesn't have plastic. It shouldn't, at least I've never heard of this phenomenon occurring outside of the Plastic gen. Not sure if this is the right thread for that question, but if it's not I'll assume it was just an honest mistake. A better question is why are you using it in battle, haha. The thing is pretty rare from what I hear.

I just bought
  • Valkyrie Spread Survive
  • Deathscyther Oval Accel
  • Wyvern Armed Massive
from Oki.

Although Brad always says he won't blame anyone for not jumping into Burst because of the tooth issues, my reason for being a little slow is that since I have to be picky about what I buy, so I need to see what is good competitively first. Of course, with the nature of Beyblade where the newest release is generally superior to all previous releases this is difficult to keep up with efficiently. It doesn't exactly make me comfortable knowing that all three of these will be pretty useless in a matter of months (aside from the String Launcher), but oh well.

The thought that some might prefer a fixed metagame with no new releases is something that I'm seeing here for the first time ever. It's interesting, to say the least, even if I don't particularly get it. ^^;

I had got 500 free yen from LMAO when signing up ZenMarket promo code. Ragnaruk being under the 500 yen, I had decided to buy it and with shipping payed only around a dollar or two for it. Didn't really want to pass on the offer.

That ice blue Ragnaruk Layer is insanely nice as well. :3

Yeah, I agree ... It's been so long since MFB has had any releases that a fixed metagame has kind of become the norm, when really, it never was like that before. You've always had to buy the newest Beyblades to keep up competitively with every generation of Beyblade; in deciding to play in an ongoing series, that's just something you need to embrace. Having a "fixed metagame" is interesting in its own way–don't get me wrong–but being present for the evolution of the metagame over the span of years is great for the perspective and general knowledge of how the game works fundamentally you gain.

That said, I can understand being cautious about which new releases you plan to buy if you are not able to buy everything. It does become tough to keep up properly though if you're in an active region because in some cases, the players who do well are the top players who are able to get the newest releases quickest (I would say if I 'bad' player got a new release quickly, it won't necessarily propel them to victory). I remember back when VariAres D:D was released in 2011 I purposely made the effort to buy the WHF pre-release of it so that I could have it in time for HIGH PARK THROWDOWN 3 before anybody else haha.

RE: Recent Beyblade Purchases - Zoroaste - Sep. 26, 2015

Yeah I was all excited to get these new releases and use them at the NYC tourney, but it turns out they suck. Haha. Well Amaterios might still be good, but I am not going to want to use it a lot and wear it out when this tourney isn't even for beypoints

RE: Recent Beyblade Purchases - LMAO - Sep. 26, 2015

Finally got some more things:
  • 2x Wyvern Armed Massive
  • 5x Beylauncher RED
  • 1x Launcher Grip
  • 1x Start Dash Set
  • 1x Valkyrie Spread Survive
  • 1x Karabiner Grip MARS RED

Super happy with these purchases, they all should come in before the Zankye100K event Smile

*A note to some Toronto bladers, there will be 2 Beylauncher RED's for sale at the event, please PM and offer.

I joined the WBO just around when 4D was ending, so I wasn't around for most of the developing period. In Zero-G I believe I only bought Guardian Revizer, a RB1 (Pirates Saramanda), and Dark Knight Dragooon before Takara Tomy stopped production, but then again Zero-G was a short series in general. I guess I prefer a "fixed metagame" because it's what I'm used to. Limited is my favorite format even though it's the least "fixed" (besides Burst), but that's because a banlist change doesn't necessarily mean "buy this new thing or you're at a serious disadvantage", it just means you can (not) use a part you probably already have.

The main problem is money. While I'm not poor by any means I don't like to spend a lot of money on things unless it's necessary. It basically boils down to me being torn between "X is good, but since X is so new it will be more expensive" and "By the time the price of X drops to something more comfortable, it will be outclassed by Y which is the same price/more expensive than X was to begin with".

It's also a personality problem too. In spite of how much I've spent on Beyblades I'm not the kinda guy to go and buy 4 BBG-025s just so I can do Wyvang Wyvang vs. Wyvang Wyvang tests. That's carping expensive and I only really need 1 of like all the other parts of the set. You only battle with one Beyblade at a time, so unless a part breaks or wears down really quickly duplicates aren't really necessary. I don't trade or buy another Wyvang off someone else because I can't stand having spare parts/incomplete Beyblades lying around (the only exception being Wide Defense WD). To this day I only own 1 Wyvang because Hasbro never released it.

RE: Recent Beyblade Purchases - Wizard - Sep. 26, 2015

I just ordered the B-12 Deasthscyther. No clue if it's good or not, haven't really looked into it much but it was $15 with free shipping so I took the jump. It won't be here until at least October 23 though, so we'll find out then.

Edit: found it for $3 more with two day shipping, canceled my order and went for that instead.

That's a good point about Limited. However, that's only for people who already have established collections, remember.

Yeah, I can certainly understand the money issue, but as with any competitive hobby, players who are able to keep up with the latest releases are usually the ones who have the best chance of succeeding in the long term. That's just how it is. Otherwise, TAKARA-TOMY wouldn't make any money and most people would get bored. Despite the hardcore group of players like ourselves that enjoy the fixed metagame of something like MFB, it was evident before Burst was announced how much activity had decreased in the community as a result of this.

Haha ... the Wyvang situation in particular was terrible. Sucks so much that a highly competitive part like that was limited to that set and that Hasbro inexplicably never released it.

RE: Recent Beyblade Purchases - Zoroaste - Sep. 27, 2015

Yeah I bought every other bey in that set, except balro before I realized how good wyvang was, lol. Then I bought 2 sets. I have like 6-8 Revisers and killerkens. Haha.

RE: Recent Beyblade Purchases - Jinbee - Sep. 27, 2015

I just got my Kerbeus Central Defense and let me tell you, I only got it a few minutes ago and I'm already in love with it!

RE: Recent Beyblade Purchases - Wizard - Sep. 27, 2015

I ordered Wyvern, which should be here on Thursday and I also imported the Bakuten Shoot Manga which will be here either Thursday or Friday. I plan to pick up a few random boosters, but I'm going to wait until I get paid again.

I think that last part meant the beyblade manufacturers.

Yeah, pretty much. Probably the reason why no product image nor review can be found.

RE: Recent Beyblade Purchases - Kai-V - Sep. 28, 2015

Actually, there are probably prototypes among TAKARA-TOMY's offices, because there were clearly some products planned to be released after Gladiator Bahamdia and Samurai Pegasis, such as the Random Booster with probably Guardian Garudas as the prize Beyblade. However, clearly those releases, including Berserker Whiger, were cancelled, most likely due to poor sales unfortunately.

I can believe that there were prototypes, just wanted to tell him it's not available.

THIS IS HUMILIATING!!

There is a plastic beyblade with the attack ring "tiger defenser" and it's actually really good. It's one of the best defense attack rings

I'm presuming its a grey beyblade, if so then it's Driger S.
