New Dragoon pics, the bey has been revised to be compatible with existing bey parts.
Will post colored versions after i finish the Dranzer and Wolborg beys.
Attached also a test 3D print of the Dragoon metal wheel in plastic, the stainless
would have cost way too much if I messed up (and I did).
Will continue to post as i finish them.

That is so awesome! It looks amazing!

You aught to try to make a Zero G Chrome Wheel some time. It would be interesting to see what designs you could make in that format(?).

RE: Custom & Remake Metal Fusion Beyblades - username2130 - Jun. 26, 2013

Not a big fan of the ZeroG blades, but i might give it a try in the future.

Do you use auto desk? I like that software a lot. We use it in the engineering class at school.

RE: Custom & Remake Metal Fusion Beyblades - username2130 - Jul. 09, 2013

I use mostly blender.

RE: Custom & Remake Metal Fusion Beyblades - username2130 - Jul. 10, 2013

Version 1 of my beyclip, seen here without keyring and carabiner.
Holds your bey so you can hang it from your backpack or belt loop.
Some of the parts on this are a bit thin so I'm working on version 2
which strengthens it up. Acts as a beytool and has a place for the
sticker of the bey.

RE: Custom & Remake Metal Fusion Beyblades - 6 God - Jul. 10, 2013

Dude, that is amazing! By the way try not to double post. Have you considered selling that?

RE: Custom & Remake Metal Fusion Beyblades - username2130 - Jul. 10, 2013

If I can get the design correct I might put a few up on ebay.

RE: Custom & Remake Metal Fusion Beyblades - Beylon - Jul. 16, 2013

After lurking for years, I've come out of hiding to express my enthusiasm for this project. It's like those picture-houses who specialise in restoring old films for re-release in HD formats. Brilliant work!

When I looked at 3D printing for blades in 2011, the price was inhibitive (edited) but that was only really a problem because I didn't know how strong the result would be - whether it could actually be used in a fight, for example. Have you tested the material?

For everyone else: 3D printing in stainless essentially means impregnating a printed abs/stainless framework with molten bronze - the abs melts away and the bronze fuses with the steel to give the printed framework strength. That's why all metallic prints have a bronze-like hue; but is it strong enough for actual use as a blade?

Would you mind telling us who you used for the print? Would you use them again? Can we see a pic of the wheel assembled with generic parts? I have found close-fitting 3D prints can need some filing - is this the same?

I'd gladly purchase one of these If I can just see how all the parts fit correctly. Get that part right and I'd gladly buy more of your designs - with some consideration of price, of course, but I understand this process isn't cheap. I have missed the wonderful 4D format.

RE: Custom & Remake Metal Fusion Beyblades - username2130 - Jul. 16, 2013

Did some testing last night, made some videos and will post them as soon as I edit them. The dragoon wheel is at least as strong as a legit bey metal wheel if not a bit stronger due to not being hallowed. I used shapeways to produce the wheel and compared to regular bey it wasn't cheap. The only filing I had to do was due to a design flaw on my part and I have since rectified that mistake. I make a few wireframe pics so you can see how well the fit together. The wheels current being set up as Dragoon Kronos 105RS.

RE: Custom & Remake Metal Fusion Beyblades - Beylon - Jul. 17, 2013

Looking forward to the vids. I've also edited my cost estimates above - that probably should have been confined to PM; my bad. Have you considered just selling directly through Shapeways? I find their shopping system quite agreeable.

Also, its a pity this area of the forum doesn't get more traffic. I'm sure people would be falling over themselves in envy if they only knew about your work. You got a webfolio or something?

RE: Custom & Remake Metal Fusion Beyblades - username2130 - Jul. 18, 2013

Videos are taking longer to edit than I thought so heres a pic of the bit beast clear wheel prototype.
Note: it uses a special bolt that's only half as thick. Will post more pics as soon as I finalize the design.

Your Dragoon Metal Wheel spins to the right? Shouldn't it be left ?

RE: Custom & Remake Metal Fusion Beyblades - username2130 - Jul. 18, 2013

RE: Custom & Remake Metal Fusion Beyblades - username2130 - Jul. 24, 2013

As soon as I'm confident enough in the specs it will be available at shapeways.com as well as some of the other parts.
