You know, guys, I've heard that there may be another one in Spring. I don't know if it's true or not, but until then, we'll have to wait and see.

RE: Toys R Us Tournaments - Thor Odinson - Dec. 27, 2011

Really? well it could be a rumor. By then, ill keep checking. Hopefully it should be in late may to early june.

RE: Toys R Us Tournaments - TheBeyBeast - Dec. 28, 2011

I was gonna go to one but it was forgotten about Unhappy

RE: Toys R Us Tournaments - torch-pegasus - Jan. 14, 2012

Hey, was wondering if anyone knows if the 2-18-12 tournament in AZ was going to happen or not? If it is still on, is it too late to sign up. Went to the one in 2010 in Phoenix
and it was a lot of fun. Just checking.

RE: Toys R Us Tournaments - Kai-V - Feb. 05, 2012

There are some in the United Kingdom and in Canada in February I think, but for Spring, there is really no news yet, especially since Japan will be starting to discover Zero G while Hasbro will continue on with Metal Fury.

RE: Toys R Us Tournaments - Mickey - Feb. 11, 2012

Yeah, there's one coming up. http://www.facebook.com/ToysRUsCanada?sk=app_182831195157660

RE: Toys R Us Tournaments - EagleX - Feb. 11, 2012

I went to one and there was a total of 3 people (including me) really poor attendance but atleast they gave away something stickers, a collector card, and a 10% off coupon for beyblade (i used the coupon and got $10 off instead)

Who wants to go to the Toys R Us at Dufferin Mall with me to promote the WBO on the 25th? Haha.

Anyways, there is some interesting details about the World Championship in the "Rules and Regulations" .pdf that they link you to on the Toys R Us website.

These things are listed as a part of what the grand prize winner of the random draw will receive:

Quote:Two (2) invitations to the opening ceremony dinner at the Westin Harbour Castle
on March 24, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.

The Westin Harbour Castle hotel is just down the street from Corus Quay. I wonder who will be at this dinner? The qualifiers and their parents obviously, but who else? Adachi Takafumi maybe?? They brought Takao Aoki over for the previous World Championship, so it's quite possible that he'll be there and at the championship itself.

Quote:An opportunity to practice with the Canadian champion before the Beyblade
World Championships begins on March 25, 2012;

LOL

Quote:Two (2) spectator admission passes to the Beyblade World Championships on
March 25, 2012 at Corus Quay, 25 Dockside Drive, Toronto at 12:00 p.m.;

So, we've got an exact time for when it will be starting. Cool. However, will spectators have to purchase passes to watch the championship? Confused I'm not sure why they would list admission passes as a part of the "prize" if they were actually free.

RE: Toys R Us Tournaments - Kai-V - Feb. 11, 2012

I doubt they will let many people at all attend the tournament just as spectators ...

I would be shocked if they didn't allow as many people in as possible. Why would they not? The championship is being used not only to determine who the "best" Blader in the world is, but to promote the game itself, right?

Kei, I'll come with you on the 25th! It also says that Luqman, Canada's representative, will be at Sherway and so will Julianne Bisnaire, Toys R Us's CPO.

Okay, we're definitely going to Sherway then! If "Luqman" will be there (what an appropriate name LOL), I'd assume the tournament at the Toys R Us there has the best chance of reaching the 32 participant limit.

Somebody tell the TRU CPO to pick up distribution of these new items. Seriously. They could sell WAAAYYY better if they picked up the pace.

Their "CPO" (Chief Play Officer) is 13 years old: http://www.facebook.com/ToysRUsCanada?sk=app_182831195157660#!/ToysRUsCanada?sk=app_206892326075499

I don't think she has much power hahaha.

Since it is somewhat relevant to the topic, here are pictures of the new Beyblade Boutique in Times Square:

It's really nice since you can see it from outside of the store from 44th st. I saw it when I was coming up Broadway and it made me really excited. I didn't realize that it was as soon as you walk into the store, not on the third floor like the Beyblades were before. This is great as it draws in existing players and new players.

The flatscreen plays clips from the episodes and the t-shirts are exclusive. I picked up a red one. Unlike the t-shirts in Japan, the sizes are larger and an extra large can fit an adult if they are about 5'5"-5'7" and fit. I do wish the red was more of a maroon, but I'm so excited that I can purchase a shirt that fits my size. A medium works fine for anyone who is around 5'4".

What I didn't like about the Boutique is the merchandising. The walls looked bare and nothing was sorted. If it is the only Beyblade Boutique in the western hemisphere, it should be immaculate. Each product should have its own hook and the bins that had assorted beys should be used to restock it. It takes all of 5 minutes and the employee who was just sitting at the door, gawking at me should have at least taken the initiative to maintain the store as well as interacting with the customers.

I also wanted to battle. I was half expecting their signature giant spinning dish to be there, but I guess it would have been a liability. No Bey-ta Go machine = disappoint.

Tomorrow, I'm going to see what I can do about going to the NYTF. Will take pics/vids if I can get a hold of Alex for a pass.

But yeah, I just saved you all a trip. It's not worth it unless you want a t-shirt.

RE: Toys R Us Tournaments - SamD. :) - Feb. 12, 2012

Deikailo: Holy carp, that's AWESOME!!! I will DEFINITELY go there when I can do so.

Edit: THAT'S AWESOME! I wonder what beys they have there...
