I agree with you, Brad. High quality videos are a must for a site like this, if you want it to be professional looking.

Could you do Beyblade reviews? That would be cool. lol. Just a suggestion.

We do reviews on the Wiki. I don't think videos are a good format for reviews, but we will do displays.

RE: The future of video - Mankster - Dec. 27, 2008

It's good that you do reviews on the Wiki, but a whole lot of people like watching videos than reading text, trust me.

RE: The future of video - Bey Brad - Dec. 27, 2008

A lot of the nuances wouldn't translate well to video.

RE: The future of video - MuchWow - Dec. 27, 2008

mankster is right,i always watch vedio review on vediogames, they so better than reading a long written review!!!

I disagree. IMO, having a video comprised of even 75% text is counter-productive. The videos should really only be for showing Beyblade performance and how-to kind of things. It'd be a waste to have a video do what a simple Wiki review can.

RE: The future of video - Mankster - Dec. 29, 2008

Well, where are most people gonna look for reviews? YouTube or some hidden Wiki? If you want to promote WBO this is a good idea.

And might I say, there aren't many reviews on beywiki... =\

We can provide test videos for each blade with a link to the review in the description. It is pointless to translate a review into video format. Please tell me how the hell to put this article in video form:

http://wiki.worldbeyblade.org/index.php/Samurai_Changer_MS

Not many reviews? How about showing me a site with more? Hell, where are all the reviews you've offered to write (note: you've never offered to write any or contributed to the site in any way)

http://wiki.worldbeyblade.org/index.php/Category:Beyblade

We write what we can when we can. It takes a lot of time to write a well-written review. Not that you'd know.

Mate, calm down.. You really get very angry over the smallest of things.

Anyway, fine do that.

But, since you want me to show you a site with more, here: http://www.cybertigeranime.com/bbspirit/index2.php?main

No offense to Kai-V, but these pages don't even scrape the depth of our articles.

Compare these:

http://www.cybertigeranime.com/bbspirit/index2.php?dragoonmsuv
http://www.cybertigeranime.com/bbspirit/index2.php?wolborgms
http://www.cybertigeranime.com/bbspirit/index2.php?jiraiyams
http://www.cybertigeranime.com/bbspirit/index2.php?samuraichangermetalshard
http://www.cybertigeranime.com/bbspirit/index2.php?drigerslash
http://www.cybertigeranime.com/bbspirit/index2.php?galeonattacker

To these:

http://wiki.worldbeyblade.org/index.php/Dragoon_MS_UV
http://wiki.worldbeyblade.org/index.php/Wolborg_MS
http://wiki.worldbeyblade.org/index.php/Jiraiya_MS
http://wiki.worldbeyblade.org/index.php/Samurai_Changer_MS
http://wiki.worldbeyblade.org/index.php/Driger_S
http://wiki.worldbeyblade.org/index.php/Galeon

And those are some of BBS's most in-depth reviews. BBS is a great site and does a lot of stuff better than we do, but Beyblade analysis is not one of them.

Sites like Beyblade Spirit never offered such reviews anyway, and I do not believe I can personally provide that. I think it is more appropriate on a wiki.

As for filming reviews, I can understand the 'potential' in video game reviews, but watching somebody talk about a toy thoroughly seems odd.

RE: The future of video - Bey Brad - Dec. 30, 2008

Yeah exactly. It makes sense in the sense of a video game, where you can show footage while talking about the game. However there's no way to touch the depth of a written review.

RE: The future of video - FFX - Dec. 30, 2008

I wouldn't mind giving it a shot to see if it would work or not. I think that it could be done, but I'm afraid I don't have nearly enough knowledge to do one.

I'm not too hopeful on finding a camera with a widescreen format considering a lot of commercials aren't even in widescreen yet. =/

If you want to go ahead and do one, then do one that already has an article written on it and thensummarize it or something.

Wow. I've never seen a HD youtube video before! AWESOME. Grin

RE: The future of video - Bey Brad - Jan. 04, 2009

thanks haha

i bought the camera just for the HD video function ... it was about $160. the video is really good for that price range, unfortunately close-up shots are pretty much impossible which makes it worthless for beyblade examination. luckily, i have other cameras around that can do it.

for anyone curious the camera is kodak z1285
