Just saw this a little while ago! Perfect timing with Odin now being unbanned in WBO Organized Play. Will have to try and get a couple of these.
And even if they didn't fix Valkyrie's teeth, it is a good sign that they are being proactive and going back and re-working some of the old Layers even where we didn't perceive problems ourselves.

A YouTube user made a comparative video on both moulds of the Odin Layer:
It was only one launch each, but the reinforced mould indeed seems to precess more, but overall it may spin longer.

It seemed to me like the new mould was created to make it easier for Odin to lose balance. I think that would slow it down like you said, but I also think that it won't spin for as long.
