Hi everyone! We have an indoor venue again for January's tournament:
Ataque de Año Nuevo (roughly... "New Year's Attack" in Spanish)

Please note that the location for this month's tournament is in Washington, DC - not Silver Spring. After nearly 2 months of searching and receiving price quotes from various schools, community centers, hotels, etc. this is the only option that I can reasonably afford - so this is where we are going to be until the Spring.

The Marriott Wardman Park Hotel is located about 100 yards west of Connecticut Avenue on Woodley Road. Parking in the surrounding neighborhoods can sometimes be challenging due to the close proximity of the National Zoo, so please plan to either arrive early to find free parking, arrive whenever and pay for parking, or take the DC Metro Red Line to the Woodley Park / National Zoo station and a very short walk to the hotel.

Date: Saturday, January 21, 2011
Location: The Marriott Wardman Park Hotel: 2660 Woodley Road NW · Washington, DC 20008 (We will be in the McKinley Room) https://www.marriott.com/hotels/maps/tra...dman-park/
Registration: 11:00am - Noon
Start time: 12:30-ish
Surface: Carpet!
Fees: $5 Room Fee + Standard WBO fees: $5 entry fee or $10 for a Blader Passport that gives you free tournaments for a year
Prizes: TakaraTomy beyblades TBD. 1st place picks first prize from the pool, etc. etc.

Excellent... <Mr Burns>

Glad to hear it!

I've got you, Bigbang4ever and Rockleone500 on the list.

BillyBlast: Keep those grades up and come on out!
Better translation is

"Ataque del Nuevo Ano"

Nuevo is masuculin, and requires an el, but the rule is de and el always go together.

Just thought this might help Smile

Ps PM me for prizes if ya need them
Since you are interested in its origin, the title of the tournament is not (as you seem to have reverse translated) Attack of the New Year, it is New Year's (Eve) Attack. The translation was provided by a colleague of mine who is a Mexican National, born and raised in Mexico City, now a US Citizen and fellow (for you) resident of Texas - though he works with me in DC.

This isn't to say that other people may not have a more preferred translation, just that I am satisfied with the one I received. Smile

February's tournament will have a title either in Esperanto or Elvish (not really) specifically to avoid the issue of native speakers disagreeing. Wink
I can come. See you all there!

Excellent! It will be nice to have you back!

Also, remember that there is an HMS tournament as well at the same time in the same place - you can check it out on this thread: http://worldbeyblade.org/Thread-Washingt...gle--45198
