Thank you Cannon Grin
These are terrific scans! Thanks for posting these! It'd be great to possibly have them translated Tongue_out.

Thanks Tri! Well yes, I know that someone here on the WBO has the english volumes, but I don't remember his/her nickname :s
Hello! Caos I've just sent you a PM about this books and now i discover this discussion Smile so I will ask here too for more people to see...

1. At page 36 of the first volume you will see a strange WD on Spin Dragoon. Do you know what it is? It looks like a Wide survivor but nor exactly the same.

2. From Page 66 we have a list of all parts released. Some parts (the oldest releases from spin dagoon to bump king) have a black circle on the up left corner. The strange WD mentioned in the first question has it too. So I wonder what this Black circle means. It is explained in japanese of course at start of page 66. All parts with the black Circle are the argument of page 36-37 that looks like a particular topic.

3. This questions are because sometimes I like to enjoy the very first beyblades metagame, before The "S" series was release, and I wonder if wide survivor and wide defense was already available. For sure that strange WD it was! was it the first wide survivor? And do you know when the first wide survivor and wide defense was released?
Max11, that is Spark Disk. I am on my phone right now and cannot resize the scan to read the explanation on the black circle, but I will do so as soon as possible.
Thank you kai! yes, I figured it out later reflecting on it. And I've noticed that the wide survivor must be a re-mold of spark disk, it still have the 2 little holes that holds the "fuse" for sparks, so it was usable very early in the game. Using that disk from the beginning it surely prevents some of all that AR breacking issues in the first series.

I'll wait for your translation thank you!

Do you have some informations on the period of first release of wide defense? Looking at the spin up book it is been released before the "S" beys, maybe together with the Heavy attack WD in a special pack, because they are one next the other, one green and the other in red.
C a o s3 thanks for sharing scans!

I just checked and of course the text you would want translated is the one in the blurry part of the scan hah. Unfortunately I cannot really read what it says about the black circle.

After some searches, I found nothing about the release date of Wide Defense, but since it had weird, limited releases, perhaps our Members who are more knowledgeable about Plastics could help you but also add the information on when and where exactly it was released to the Wide Defense article.

^ The first post on that website maybe helpful (if you read japanese), it references a different type of weight disk that was in a spin up book?
Uhm, very interesting if someone could translate...

Anyway Kai, I own the spin up guide book so I've made a photo of the text to translate

Despite seemingly looking different in some pictures a spark disk is exactly the same as a Wide Survivor. The holes are present on the Wide Survivor it's just there's nothing in them.

Anyway there look quite cool but nothing amazing in them tbh. I'm curious whether the recolours in the first two books are real but I suspect they are just painted.
I for one think these are incredible. Amazing piece of Beyblade history with some of the highest-quality images of these Beyblades ever. Thank you so much for sharing.

Oh, this is slightly interesting : from what I gather, a black circle means that production for this part has stopped, at the moment of the publication of this guide.
Not quite what I was expecting Pinching_eyes

In this discussion We see that Random Booster 1 had both wide defense and wide survivor. If this is reliable, Looking at the content of the random booster, it should be the first release for the WDs

I'm not sure wide defense was so early. Someone knows the year of release for random booster 1? I can't find anything about it, not even an image
Firstly stop questioning proven knowledge. It's annoying. Especially when you have no basis for saying "I don't didn't think it was released so early".... It was definitely in random booster one. It's on the cover of the package. Also while we don't know the release date it was almost certainly 1999 or early 2000.

Proven knowledge you say, but every one I asked here doesn't know... If you know say it and I will stop asking... simple.

I said "I think...", not "I know that..." since, like you said, I have no basis to say something sure about it, so, I ask hoping someone has the answer.

I can't be sure that was in RB 1, as I said, I can't find even not an image of it, if you have it, please post it, why not doing it before?
It is if you know a lot about plastics. However it isn't really brought up often. Here:

Then I think his doubt was totally reasonable. I also think it's reasonable to wonder about something like that and ask for evidence; it wouldn't be the first time a documented piece of knowledge turned out to be false. I'm actually pretty surprised to know that Wide Defense is that old, too.

The hostility was uncalled for, but thank you for clearing it up. Especially since this is an awesome thread about awesome stuff, let's keep it ... awesome.

(BEYKIDS is another great piece of Beyblade history, so very happy to see it's still online!)
Thank you Ultra. And thank you Brad for the support.

Seems like wide survivor it's not there. In The plastic RB discussion it is listed.

And there's a heavy attack WD. In the wikia it said that heavy attack had first release with gaia dragoon.

Anyway, now I know that both Wide survivor and wide defense was released before Grip attacker, that's what I was searching for, thank you!

If someone is interested, searching for random booster 1 images i found this

Grip Attacker green Wide defense
Grip attacker blue wide defense

I was wondering if those blue and green wide defenses we see in the spin up book 1 was official releases, seems like comes from those grip attackers.
