Ray Discussion

So, I think it has become general knowledge among Bladers that Ray does indeed have Smash Attack potential. However, nobody has really posted conclusive evidence as of yet. Valentin and I did record some tests at BRC, but I've lost the sheet, so I decided to do a few myself to get discussion started.

Ray Pegasis II 90RF vs. MF Earth Aquario C145WB
Attack Stadium
Launcher Grip + Beylauncher for both
MF Earth Aquario C145WB shot first
Banking with Ray Pegasis II 90RF

Results:
Ray Pegasis II 90RF: 15 wins
MF Earth Aquario C145WB: 5 wins
Ray win percentage: 75%

Ray is a top tier part. I'm tempted to say that I prefer it over Quetzalcoatl at this point, to be honest. If anybody else wishes to conduct some more tests with it in different situations, please go ahead!

EDIT:
Round 2:

Ray Pegasis II 100RF vs. MF Earth Aquario C145WB
Ray Pegasis II 100RF: 13 wins
MF Earth Aquario C145WB: 7 wins
Ray win percentage: 65%

Ray overall win percentage: 70%
I also have had the same results as you. Just one more win than what you have for Ray. I think Quetz is good but its quite overrated. I like Ray much better. Seems to ensure the win a bit better IMO.
ive been playing around with Ray unicorno D125WF and it throws MF earth bull GB145WB around, i agree that Ray is deffenatly a top tire smash attack wheel
Definatly getting Ray Unicorno now. Man Ray Unicorno is like the storm pegasus over the second series in terms of usefulness.
I haven't really tested Ray out as much, mainly because I sprayed it and am a little hesitant about completely destroying it.
Looks like I'm going to have to scratch off that top coat of paint if the results are this good.
Is it better at this height than at 120? The results from the testing of its parts certainly do make ray unicorno an enticing purchase!
i did a little bit of testing with Ray Unicorno 100CS against MF earth Bull GB145WB only 5 battles tho since my CS isnt woren in realy and stays in the middle almost all the time >_>
but it was,
Ray Unicorno 100CS 4 wins
MF Earth Bull GB145WB 1

ofcourse more testing should be done,if someone has a CS thats woren and works as it should could they do more testing for it?Since im not sure how long its gonna take to get my CS to the point where its aggressive on launch everytime..
I think Ray is DEFINITELY a top tier part, mostly from experience.
Might not be good evidence, but it really beat up my uncustomized Perseus (reason of weak evidence).
Finally! Thanks Kei for this.

I think Ray is better than Storm as Attack Wheel.
I haven't been seeing too many Galaxy-involved combos despite my original impression of it being a must buy blade.

Would anyone that has tested Ray say that it is better than Galaxy? Also, is Storm a better choice than Galaxy?
This is a thread about the Ray metal wheel, not Galaxy.
I was really surprised from the performance of Ray, even though it has no upper attack.
This is fascinating and might be the solution to my problem with Quetz not staying on the launcher or somehow managing to get stuck. I would have never guessed it had smash with the lay out of the wheel, but wonderful to know thank you.

Galaxy pegasis is a pretty carp bey. Just get Ray Unicorno.

Galaxy isn't powerful
R2F has worse stamina than the fat kid in Gym class.
I've seen some nice ray KO's while not having the chance to actually use one, and CS looks pretty effective as well.

Out of curiosity though, any reason for Pegasis II in that first combo? I personally find that the Aries clear wheel works well for me in attack combos.

Speaking from testing experience and as a respective gym class fat kid, QFT.

No particular reason.
Why was 90 used? 100 is a better track for smash.
Ray works better on higher tracks, not even 100
I'm still kinda new to this but what exactly is Pegasus II i herd of Storm Pegasus and Galaxy Pegasus.
Use the search function... Don't be lazy
Pegasis II is the clear wheel from Galaxy Pegasis
oh okay thanks...btw im not lazy Joyful_3
I always knew Ray would be useful in an attack combo, just by looking at the shape of the wheel.
Now I must buy it Tongue_out

Also, for smash attack you want direct contact(as if you already didn't know), so I think Ch120 would do better than 90.
This is in response to ♥'s post in the Track Testing (Stamina: Solo Spin Time)

I have used Ray ...

What I mean is however, something like Quetzalcoatl 90RF would be hitting something close to a 90-100% win rate against a Stamina customisation such as Virgo DF145SD.

Attack Stadium
Launcher Grip + Beylauncher for both
Stamina type shot first
Banking with Ray Pegasis II 100RF

Ray Pegasis II 100RF vs. Virgo DF145SD
Ray Pegasis II 100RF: 13 wins
Virgo DF145SD: 5 wins
2 draws

Ray Pegasis II 100RF vs. Burn Bull DF145SD
Ray Pegasis II 100RF: 17 wins
Burn Bull DF145SD: 3 wins

Okay, so Ray obviously doesn't have a 90-100% win rate against Virgo in those 20 tests. It's defensive qualities versus Burn's lack of those qualities, and it's recoil are showcased clearly as well. I was testing Ray with 100 earlier, and didn't feel like changing back to 90, so maybe that could have made a difference. If someone wants to test that (and just Ray in general- nobody but me has posted results yet!), we might be able to get a more accurate reading.

Fixed, but Ray is more powerful when using a taller track like CH120

Oops, my bad, I copy + pasted it from the OP haha.

Oh, really? Please enlighten us with some test results then! Wink
