Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST

It's funny because we get less snow than you. Oh wait, in fact, they had to truck in sooo much snow for the winter olympics, oh yeah, it was colder in spring 2010 than in the winter Olympics, stupid Canadians. It's snowed once only this winter I believe. Right now it's also warmer than your guys' temperatures in New York. Actually, when I went to California about two years ago, it was warmer here. You want our polar bears or something, silly Americans?
My own soulmate on valentines ends up visiting his seriously ill grandmother, who had an injury from two respiratory blood clots.

That and I had put up with three stupid radio commercials that sugar-coat this holiday as anything more than a sick little bullying tool.
Aw, just enjoy the day! Put a smile on (nobody mention cheeseburgers or wherever that's from), you won't have fun if you don't let the fun in!

It will not be difficult to guess what you have inspired me to order for supper.
Had a good time on my date tonight. Couldn't think of anything to talk about at first, but I got the ball rolling pretty well. ^^ Enjoyed the movie, learned some new things.

Also, does anybody else here hate awkward silence? This is actually why I'm making this post. I need ways to start conversations when my mind draws to a blank around my gf. This usually never happens to me when talking to people. Help please. Pinching_eyes_2

EDIT: Hazel, did you come from Oregon? The Oregon nut is the Hazelnut...
Also, Oregon's "birthday" was today. 153 years, haha.

Hugging and acting like a fool usually counter awkward silence well enough.

I have not ever even been to Oregon. In fact, I do not know where Oregon is, relative to other states.

I am named for a robot, a rabbit, and an eye color.

The easiest (and generally best received) way to make conversation is to ask her something about herself. works wonders.

But don't we already have a thread for this?
We had a BF/GF thread but people were posting depressing carp all the time. Or acted full of themselves.
That thread was killed off due to general immaturity and people trying to grow up too fast and give advice they had no idea about, essentially.

Mentioning things like that on occasion here will be fine, but please do not make it a constant.
More like a variable that is asymptotically approaching zero. And I don't mean Kurogane Zero... ;p
I am starting to wear tennis wristbands to school now. Since it's not in the rules that I can't wear them, I wear them everyday. No idea why, just an impulse.

Despite me thinking this is weird, at least it's not as weird as the other kids at my school. Athletic clothes with long basketball socks and Nike Sandals? Come on, guys, it's not Lazy Day every day, and you're going to a school you got ACCEPTED into. PLEASE make a good impression. Every time I ask them, they say it's "the trend". The trend? How is that a trend. At least be a little formal.

Anybody else have that one kid at school or have a friend that they know of that dresses like that?

I'm pretty sure this is a math joke and I'm going to hit you in the mouth with a shovel that has at least twenty cats strapped to it.

The way people dress in schools always goes through ridiculous phases - usually more than two a year, in fact. Even schools with certified uniforms run into some kind of workaround trend.

Guys in capris was A Thing at my highschool for six months.
Well, it's official, I'm going to Chicago to see my girlfriend this summer! We met online and have been together since November 2008. I got to meet her in the summer of '10 and '11 and this'll make the third year in a row! Too elated for words... now to sell some beyblades and save up for the plane ticket!
Hazel:

I'm every bit the nerd I want to be, when I want to be, thank you very much. And now that I know you like these jokes so much... here's one that combines math with our earlier discussion of meat!

What is the first derivative of a cow?
...
Prime Rib!

Rimshot

20 cats though, hmm... I'm thinking snow shovel, amirite?

I met mine online eight years ago and we're getting married this summer. Ain't no thang about online relationships true for those who ain't willin' to put in work.

Nah, we don't have snow shovels in Alabama.

A lot of the female cats on our property are pregnant(5 of them, atm), so you will be struck with an army of very small cats.

Fresh cats.

Now that's what I'm talking about! 8 years! Online relationships are becoming a lot more accepted these days, I remember people ridiculing me and telling me we wouldn't last for a month... it sure was fun proving them wrong Smile I think we'll get engaged in 2 years and probably married in about 4-5!

Where's my invite to the wedding btw? Andrew

We haven't actually been dating 8 years, just about 25 months now. But, I have had two previous online relationships that lasted an excess of 18 months. It's all about how willing you are to make the necessary sacrifices.

We're trying to keep the wedding fairly small at this point - already have 40 guests coming.
Oh, so I'm beating you then?! SCORE! Naa I'm messing with you, congratulations on getting married soon bud! It's awesome to see an online relationship reach that stage Smile
Man having a huge nostalgia after returning to YuGiOh. Zexal disappointed me..... alot. On the bright side I feel good to play it again and I'M still trying to convince my mom to order Shooting Star Dragon. Mainly because it resembles to the movie edition Blue Eyes White Dragon. It's effects are beastly tho.

Not to mention I got weight lifting class and I like it very much. My muscles is starting to develop, I lost 5 pounds, and my upper body is like a "football " athlete shape. I look weird tho ╯﹏╰ so I wear big baggy shirts to cover it up.

Why did I not think of that? That's kinda how I was around her before the relationship. Now I'll have something on my mind that I want to talk to her about, but when I'm with her, I forget about all that as if it doesn't matter. I'll keep what you said in mind. If it was anything else, I would've PM'd you directly since you give good advice. Tongue_out Also, what exactly do you mean by "act like a fool"?

I was doing that a little bit. I couldn't think of anything I didn't already know since I've known her for almost a year. The fact that she's shy about relationships doesn't help the situation at all. Uncertain

My gf won't be at school tomorrow because she'll be at the hospital (They might admit her). I won't be at school on Friday because I'll be leaving for North Carolina and won't be back until Sunday. On Monday I'll be at the hospital for follow ups, and possibly some more blood work. I'm gonna have to wait until at least Tuesday to see her again. Unhappy Thank god for texting...

Also, does anybody ever get tired of immature lower classmen? I'm a sophomore. My 5th period is Music Theory, which is a self study. While I'm in there, there is also a History Of American Music class going on, and it's all freshman. When I'm not back in the practice room playing my instruments, I'll sit and listen to music. But oh god, they need to grow up. They're 9th graders acting like 6th graders. It gets on my nerves so much. Pinching_eyes_2

First thing Im going to do when I arrive is go around the block and getme a 5$ Brooklyn Pizza. So.. . . . . GOOD! I just like hella. On the bright side Im still "YuGiOh Hunting" so I plan to also go to KingsGames to hunt. I hope they sell single cards. If anyone knows please tell me .
